Financial Analyst

Hanley Wood is currently seeking a Financial Analyst in Washington, DC. Under the direction of the Vice President, Finance, the Financial Analyst will support Hanley Wood Media and Marketing financial planning and analysis and HW corporate development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

The Analyst will generate and assemble, analyze, summarize, and disseminate financial and statistical data in support of the following:

Hanley Wood Media and Marketing:

• Annual financial budget and bi-annual financial projections
• Revenue forecast aggregation and reporting
• Sales analysis and compensation plans
• Month-end financial close process
• Ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned

Hanley Wood Corporate:

• Cross-company financial reporting
• Mergers and acquisitions due diligence and financial modeling
• Corporate financing
• Master operating model maintenance
• Weekly cash forecasting

Additionally, the Analyst will:

• Develop and maintain financial, sales intelligence, key performance indicator and other reports in a variety of platforms, including Cognos TM1, Salesforce.com, Concur and MS Office products
• Provide ad hoc income statement, balance sheet and cash flow analyses
• Document critical operational processes
• Special projects as assigned

Education / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in accounting, business administration, finance or economics
• 1-3 years experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related fields
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other MS Office products
• Ability to quickly turn large amounts of data into understandable, comprehensive, and accurate analysis
• Strong analytical ability and desire to learn and grow
• Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP accounting), budgeting, financial statements, financial and operational analysis
• Hands-on report writing experience; familiarity with Cognos TM1, Salesfore.com, Epicor and Concur a plus;
• Experience with cost and project completion accounting is a plus
• Financial modeling experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to operate independently and proactively
