As a Director of Engineering at Zip, you will join the senior leadership team in our ANZ technology function, leading and coaching a high-calibre group of engineering managers and software engineers to ship performant code that solves customer problems and creates customer value.
Engineering at Zip partners closely with product and design functions to create amazing product experiences for our 3.1 million customers and 41,000 merchant partners in Australia, and builds and supports the platforms that process billions of dollars in payment transactions every year.
We will look to you for empathetic leadership and people management skills as much as software engineering expertise, and we'd love someone who is a skilled communicator as well as a technical guru - someone who is passionate about developing people, building and coaching teams, and brings the experience and drive to lead a large, diverse engineering group.
On a technical level, we are cloud-native on AWS, use microservices across a variety of technology stacks, but predominantly .NET 6, are constantly improving our highly-rated native iOS and Android apps, and are reasonably mature in terms of site reliability, platform and quality engineering - but our work here is never done!
