Organization

ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world’s largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020. Our focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 6 seat aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric powertrain, passed significant flight tests, and is on track for commercial deliveries by 2023. Its achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member to the UK Jet Zero Council.

Role

The People Operations Coordinator aids with and facilitates the processes for ZeroAvia’s US locations by providing operational support to applicants, employees, on-boarding, HRIS and employee records, compliance, off-boarding, and the coordination of employee engagement activities and programs. The ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. Although this role is based out of our Hollister site in California, there may be light traveling required to our Everett location in Washington State in the future.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • First line responder to internal and external people operations related inquiries
  • Assist and support HR projects across US Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, and Compensation as directed
  • Facilitate full life-cycle administration, from pre-onboarding to termination
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including background screenings, first-day logistics between new hires and internal teams, workstation setup and collating personal information
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
  • Maintain accurate employee records and conducts audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs
  • Work cross functionally with Business Leaders, Talent Management organization, Finance, IT, and Facilities
  • Document, maintain and communicate core people related processes
  • Assist with organizing company events for our US sites

 

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR administration, operations, or generalist role in the US
  • Tact and discretion when working with employees and confidential information
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Flexible and people-centric approach to work and a high level of drive and ambition to help achieve the organization’s goals
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A self-starter with the ability to autonomously and efficiently
  • Proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft
  • A genuine passion for clean technology and the future of electric aviation

Preferred

  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems such as BambooHR, Gusto, or similar
  • Background in payroll, benefits, and/or visa/immigration matters
  • General knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws related to recruitment, wages, benefits, leaves of absences, etc.
  • Startup and/or manufacturing experience
