ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be working closely with Zeal Founders, Sales and customer-facing teams to understand users pain points and stakeholders interests as it relates to workforce management solutions. Someone who has worked at a startup who was responsible for diverse product responsibilities from initial scoping, strategy all the way to go-to-market plans would be a great fit. This role will also focus quite a bit on API design/work as it relates to our payments and compliance product feature development.

SOME THINGS YOU MAY BE WORKING ON

  • Full ownership over the strategy and roadmap for Zeal’s new Compliance and Payments product features that touches thousands of existing and future users
  • Work collaboratively with internal (founders, sales, engineering, design) and external partners (stakeholders, PM’s, etc) to understand the users pain points tying to key business metrics
  • Own API design and documentation for these new workforce management features
  • Write and maintain user stories per changing product and engineering requirements
  • Liaise between various teams to manage project scope
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date internal documentation and release notes
  • You will partner in product discovery and lead product delivery to ensure the final, shipped product matches the expectations of the customer
  • Collaborate with various teams to manage project scope, reporting on project statuses and key metrics

YOU HAVE

  • A few years of experience as a Product Manager preferably at a start-up
  • Experience working in an API ecosystem, working closely with engineering and design teams
  • 0-1 Product Experience (talking to users, buy-in from stakeholders, road mapping, building out eng stories, project managing, marketing, etc)
  • Strong business acumen (professionalism metrics/KPI driven)
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition for a B2B-related product
  • You have experience with task and project management as well as some analytics tools
  • Adept at white-boarding and have the ability to conduct customer and user surveys to optimize the current and future product roadmap
  • A keen sense for prioritization and being flexible to iterate on changing business requirements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and you are an adept partner to stakeholders, engineers, designers, and other staff members

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience working within payments or fintech adjacent industry would be great
  • Very early-stage product experience
  • HR Compliance and Workforce Management Product Experience

OUR COMPENSATION & PHILOSOPHY

The range for this role is between $115,000 and $145,000 for California based candidates
