The Director of Engineering is responsible for managing a dedicated team of Engineering Managers and Engineers supporting all Packet and FTT Products. In this role you will be accountable for related budgets, reporting on operational metrics inclusive of on-time-performance and meantime to install and managing the workload volume and output of your team. The Director of Engineering will work closely with the Director of Install to ensure we are meeting customer expectations for all services delivered. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight to a team of Engineering Managers and Engineers Manage Salesforce pipeline and reporting for all Packet and FTT orders Provide monthly, quarterly, reports on each team’s performance Manage teams to meet or exceed Zayo’s goals related to delivery time lines and commitments to our customers Monitor internal processes and work with outside stakeholders to continually enhance our process to reach industry leading intervals Develop high performing teams by assisting with the development of tools and automation Work closely with Service Delivery project management team to ensure all orders are delivered daily/monthly Serve as the escalation point for Service Delivery concerns Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience. (Or) 5 years delivery experience as an Engineering Manager or Manager within a Service Delivery Organization. Proficient in Ethernet and IP Engineering for both core and customer deployments Must have strong leadership skills Must be able to quickly adapt and lead change within your organization Proven experience working with service provider networks in a technical capacity for metro Ethernet products. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent presentation skills and strong soft skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills, relationship management, client facing, negotiation, team-building, and problem-solving; with experience in presentation to senior levels of the organization Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism Ability to multi-task efficiently Be a "self-starter" committed to customer satisfaction/project delivery and able to respond to rapid change within the business. Expertise in Metasolve, Salesforce, Visio, MS Office suite Preference is given to candidates with education industry knowledge or experience Base pay range: $118,400 - $173,690, commensurate with experience.
