Zatkoff Seals & Packings is Hiring a Cost Estimator Near Warren, MI

Description

The Cost Estimator will estimate for product manufacturing or services to aid sales staff in bidding on or determining price of product or service.

This is a full-time position with a benefit package that includes excellent health benefits, profit sharing (retirement program), and additional bonus compensation. Typical hours of work would be 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday (40hrs/week).

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products or services.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Maintain data in information systems or databases.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Confer with engineers, salesman for feasibility on given project.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with desktop computers.
  • Ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
  • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Must be an active listener, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May require occasional standing and walking.
