Zambezi is Hiring an Editor Near Culver, CA

We are looking for a top-tier creative video editor who is a follower and lover of sports, especially golf. You are someone who can look at footage with fresh eyes and collaborate with creative teams to create premium work ranging from TV spots to short-form, stylized promotional sizzles and even cinematic long form content. You are a skillful storyteller, able to craft narrative and emotion through all types of audio-visual mediums. You look at popular creative culture with an eye and ear for what is timeless as well as what is current. You have a general love of creating dynamic editorial work. 

The role would be a true hybrid (at our brand new post production studio in Culver City).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In this full-time position, you will use your creative editing skills on behalf of FIN Studios and Zambezi, working on one of our clients who is a leading golf equipment brand, and other specialty projects as needed.
  • As part of our renowned post production team, you’ll work alongside our creative teams, other editors, assistants, sound designers, motion designers, colorists, VFX artists, and other collaborators to create compelling content for all types of people.
  • Together with our clients and producers you’ll translate raw footage into spot-on edits, actualizing the creative vision for each project.
  • Next to editing, you’ll employ some motion graphics and animation skills to help polish and enhance videos and other content.
  • We’ll also look for your help in editing case study, pitch and other video materials for new business and PR needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You have 6 years of professional experience working as an editor of creative commercial and/or branded content work.
  • You can create exciting edits for TV spots, social media, streaming platforms, and other types of content.
  • You are an Adobe Premiere Pro expert and have a working knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop, for basic motion graphics and animation. (Higher level motion and animation skills, like Cinema4D, is a plus).
  • You can do the heavy lifting of the offline edit, as well as the nitty-gritty of prepping and overseeing the online to make sure it’s perfect before shipping.
  • You can take care of simple animations, designs, supers, transitions and basic effects.
  • You have a working knowledge of color grading, sound design and mix, VFX, and other post processes to make sure that the entire process runs smoothly.
  • You also have experience with conforming and versioning for various deliverables and aspect ratios (Broadcast, Web, Social, Streaming, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, etc).
  • You are a well-organized collaborator who’s great with clients and colleagues, as well as a motivated self-starter that can work independently as needed.
  • You have access to reliable high-speed internet and can integrate into our workflow of Adobe Team Projects and Dropbox.
