Yusen Logistics is Hiring a Learning & Development Manager Near Secaucus, NJ

Overview

The Learning & Development Manager works closely with SVP HR and Regional L&D Director for the Americas region to provide learning and professional development to the Yusen’s workforce. The L&D Manager equips the staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks by either personally delivering or arranging for a third-party trainer. The L&D Manager will assist with the on-going, long-term improvement of employees’ skills, inspiring the workforce and enabling them to fulfill their potential within Yusen US. The L&D Manager will deliver, track, and report on all training programs. The L&D Manager will also serve as a key member of the DEI Committee, helping to raise awareness and serving in a champion role for DEI program initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify learning and development needs through job analysis, performance appraisal process and regular consultations with business managers and the US HR field team.
  • Design and expand learning and development programs based on both company and individual’s needs.
  • Lead projects that will require cross functional support and execution and creating best practices.
  • Development of training manuals, user guides, training calendar and other educational materials as needed.
  • Deliver training programs personally or arrange and manage third party partners.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend external training partners and manage their selection, performance and budgets as well as integration into existing learning roadmap and systems.
  • Assist in solving specific training, development and team building matters.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the administration and logistics for L&D programs across multiple locations to ensure training programs run successfully.
  • Track, report, and evaluate training programs for participation and effectiveness; make recommendations to improve offerings.
  • Work closely with Regional L&D Director in designing and delivering programs to the US employee population.
  • Manage the LMS Catalog and promote its existence and content to both business leaders and individual staff members.
  • Assist in the management of the annual performance and development process including goal setting/ mid review/calibration sessions and year end annual review process.
  • Partner with HR field team to help managers and employees in creating individual development plans as well as assist in the talent review and talent mapping process for Yusen US.
  • Serve as key member of Yusen’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
  • Help to support Employee Resource Groups and champion DEI initiatives.
  • Raise awareness of DEI among all employees, particularly providing and coordinating the contents of the e-learning platform.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of metrics for measuring the effectiveness of the corporate diversity initiatives and prepare reporting on the value of the initiatives as required.
  • Stay current on evolving developmental needs and ways of working through internal listening and external benchmarking.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of corporate experience in learning, instructional design and development or equivalent. At least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse internal customer base.
  • Strong project management and organization skills. 
  • Event planning and program management skills preferred.
  • Understanding of key diversity engagement metrics able to draw compelling insights from data analytics. 
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of internal/external stakeholders and in turn develop thoughtful solutions.

 Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to travel up to 30%
