Position Summary:
The Client Manager is responsible for the day to day management and direction of a portfolio of assigned YLA account relationships. Account portfolios generally consist of strategic accounts a mix of small/mid-sized accounts with monthly shipment activities.
The Client Manager, Sales is also responsible for selling and matching YLA solutions for local accounts within an assigned territory and/or maintaining and expanding service offering within existing accounts. This position is located in a branch office of the International division and works with the branch managements and support teams for achieving revenue generation, account management and customer satisfaction goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management: The Client Manager will function as the primary representative, responsible for building and maintaining a positive relationship with assigned clients. The Client Manager will communicate with clients by telephone or in person, as needed; provide product and service information and answer other general account questions on a timely and accurate basis.
Account Leadership & Direction: Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business, service requirements. The Client Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to team members assigned to the customer accounts under management and will oversee operational issues to ensure they are effectively resolved by relevant parties.
Sales Management: The Client Manager will focus on building and maintaining client relationships that further the use and up-sell of YLA products and services. The Client Manager will continuously look at opportunities to increase revenue and growth targets for accounts under management.
New business development: Develop new business opportunities through research, prospecting and qualifying new opportunities. This will include customer visits & developing relationships within the defined geographical area or market. Increase market share within assigned territory and achieve assigned financial budget for volume, revenue and profit. Prepare and present proposals, make recommendations for new services, extensions, or enhancements and overcome objections to closure. Handle sales leads from international offices. Send sales leads to overseas offices as appropriate. Successfully close new business and onboard new clients. Expected to meet Sales Targets assigned by management.
Education and Experience
College Degree in a related field plus 3 or more years’ related experience in international shipping or international logistics. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered .
