Shift: Weekend (days) and 2-3 days during the week (20-30 hours)

The Maintenance Associate will contribute to the mission, vision, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by providing maintenance, construction/renovation support and event set-up for all areas of the facility at the direction of the Maintenance Director with standards of excellence, ensuring that buildings are maintained in a safe condition and grounds are clean and aesthetically pleasing.

1. Work with supervisor to ensure that all facilities and equipment meet or exceed all applicable local, state, and national codes and regulations
2. Monitor, maintain, repair, replace, perform labor and purchase (with appropriate approvals) all equipment and supplies, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cleaning supplies, road salt, sidewalk shoveling and use of snow blowers, leaf blowers, security/alarms, fire extinguishers, pool and whirlpool chemicals, door and vehicle keys, etc.
3. Provide regular maintenance on all JCC vehicles including trucks, vans, tractors, riding and push mowers, power and gardening tools, plows, sanders, and snow removal tools
4. Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, members, and lay leaders as part of the Maintenance team, including attending staff meetings as needed
5. Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies
6. Complete all additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidate should have basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical as well as experience using hand and electrical tools and the ability to read technical manuals and drawings. On the job training will be available for qualified candidate. The position requires physical stamina and dexterity. The ideal candidate has very good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
