Role Overview:
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Production Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the production team is actively engaged in meeting daily customer demand and the production schedule. The Production Team Lead provides effective training to the production staff and ensures safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. The Production Team Lead is also responsible for being a leadership resource for team members; providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice.
Responsibilities:

• Practice “safety first”, setting an example of good safety behaviors.
• Attend daily Leadership meetings. Communicate daily work plan and goals to the team and assist supervisor to hold department accountable to reach defined goals.
• Responsible for meeting cross training goals. Helps to define training needs for existing personnel and implement as needed.
• Assist defining work priorities and communicate to the team.
• Work on and promote process improvements and cost reductions.
• Responsible for achieving daily KPI’s (Key Performance Factors).
• Assist in follow up on daily/weekly/monthly performance (on time delivery).
• Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Utilize and implement all “Lean Manufacturing” tools (5s, Preventive Maintenance, SMED-Setup reduction.
• Keep an active line of communication open and escalate any issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Contributes to team efforts by initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Report to the supervisor on team and individual accomplishments.
• Assist in assessing team weaknesses and strengths.
• Resolve simple or informal complaints and refer formal complaints to appropriate supervisor.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Production Department for assigned shift or crew.
• Ensure compliance with GMP/GDP policies.
• Exhibit high level of professional conduct.
• Continues to update job knowledge through cross training as requested.
• Performs related or other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Training and Experience

• High school diploma required.
• 3-5 years of practical, hands on experience with manufacturing, Supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Must be experienced working with computers and have ability to learn, navigate and use designed software programs as required to perform job functions (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP system).
