Jewish Community Center is Hiring an Employment Specialist Near Cherry Hill, NJ

Job Title: Employment Specialist (Part-Time)
Jewish Family and Children's Services of Southern New Jersey is seeking a part-time Employment Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in seeking, obtaining, and maintaining employment, allowing them to reach their highest potential. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform initial intake to access client's education, work history, work interests, aptitudes and to clarify the plan
  • Assist client with development of Resume and Interviewing skills
  • Conduct Situational Assessments to determine client's strengths, skills, challenges, and employment goals
  • Explore business and jobs in the community to create job development opportunities
  • Willingness to travel to various parts of Southern New Jersey (Mileage reimbursed)
  • Perform initial Job Coaching and support for individuals at the worksite
  • Provide Long Term Follow Along visits to clients
  • Assist with Job Coaching substitute coverage as a member of the Supported Employment Team
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employer, client, and family to monitor client's employment performance and progress
  • Discuss and report progress to Supported Employment Program Manager
  • Maintain accurate and timely case files and documentation as mandated by New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Division of Developmental Disabilities
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with JFCS requirements
  • Perform other tasks as required within the Supported Employment Program
Qualifications include: Must be able to work collaboratively as a member of the Supported Employment team, be highly organized, flexible, good problem solver, and a good communicator. Job Development or business prospecting highly desired. Previous experience working with adults with disabilities strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.
