YMCA OF GREATER TULSA is Hiring an Executive Director Near Tulsa, OK

POSITION SUMMARY:Under the general direction of Central District Executive Director, this position is accountable for the successful administration of the branch in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines of the YMCA of Greater Tulsa Association. The Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA Executive Director oversees the management of programs, membership, volunteer and staff recruitment and development, fundraising, and collaborations with community agencies in meeting the needs of its members and program participants. The Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA Executive Director will work with Association Staff in consistency of programs and membership as well as innovation, strategy and management of risk.CORE COMPETENCIES:Mission Advancement*Community: Demonstrates a commitment to community development by engaging and partnering with members of the community. Operational Effectiveness*Decision Making: Provides others with frameworks for making decisions and transfers learning from one situation to another.*Quality Results: Holds staff accountable for high-quality results and a high value experience for members using a formal process to measure progress.Personal Growth*Functional Expertise: Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; Uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:Required:1.Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience2.Minimum 5 years YMCA exempt/professional work experience or equivalent in a related field or company3.Volunteer or Staff supervision experience4.Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership5.Proven ability to work with a volunteer board/committee6.Knowledge of the YMCA as a membership organization7.Knowledge & experience in budgeting, financial development, and board / community relations. Preferred:1.Master’s Degree 2.Excellent written and oral communication skills3.Bilingual - English/Spanish4.Current CPR/AED, First Aid, O2 CertificationPRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1.Ensure growth in membership sales and recruitment 2.Responsible for budgeting, expense control, & income generation for the branch.3.Oversight for all program areas within the branch.4.Monitors key results areas and provides effective management by anticipating challenges and proactive response.5.Constant communication and work with the Association Directors to create innovative strategy.6.Advocates for and institutionalizes inclusion and diversity throughout the organization.7.Responsible to create a working climate that encourages staff and volunteers to develop new and creative methods of delivering the mission of the YMCA through progress.8.Recruit, develop and lead volunteers and staff in raising the goal amount of the Annual Campaign9.Recruit, develop and lead the board of advisors.10.Recruit develop and lead program and membership staff.11.Consistently communicate with property manager regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.12.Facilitate communication between all departments so members are aware of all programs & opportunities available to them.13.Work closely with VP of Talent and Culture to ensure programs and facility are run in a safe manner.14.Work closely with VP of Brand Strategy to ensure proper marketing strategy is followed.15.Coordinate scheduling so facility operates seamlessly.16.Assist with annual promotion plan for all programs including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements, etc.17.Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:•High level of concentration and aptitude for learning wide variety of program information and new computer applications•Physically able to tour members inside and outside facility as needed•Physically able to lift 35 pounds occasionally.•Physically able to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time•Ability to speak distinctly to communicate with customers and staff on the phone or in person•Patience to deal with 5 or more people at the same time•Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations. RELATIONSHIPS TO BE MAINTAINED:Work with schools, cities, community organizations, & home builders on collaborative programsOngoing, lasting relationships with volunteers and staffLeader of branch staff teamEFFECT ON END RESULT:Ensures continued growth of balanced budget, program development, & community outreach. Increases involvement of volunteers. Develops and retains capable, diverse, and active Board of Advisors, Board committees, and staff. Achieves branch operating objectives through staff. Budgeted goals and quality performance standards are met or exceeded.
