YANMAR AMERICA is Hiring a Service Technician Near Olathe, KS
Position Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for the overall operation, customer service experience and profitability of the Service Department. This position is based in Olathe, Kansas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the direct supervision of all service aspects. This will include ensuring that all company technical and administrative policies are followed in the execution of services provided in the support of generator repairs, maintenance and start-up services and parts sales as it pertains to reaching goals set by management.
Job Functions: Coordinate to ensure all service tasks are taken care of Work with service team to ensure that the Work in Process (WIP) warranties “cases” are followed up daily with tasks completed and credited accurately and timely. Work with Service team and customer technicians to ensure that all service work is reported accurately and followed up on. Assist with HIPOWER Systems and customer training requirements for all personnel in the department to ensure that all training requirements are met. Ensure all warranty claims and Start-ups forms are completely processed, maintained, and tracked. Work with management team to establish monthly goals and review monthly warranty cost to ensure all financial goals of the department are met. Responsible for regular reporting activity against financial and operational goals. Able to glean insights, provide solutions and ideas for continuous improvement and/or course correction as necessary. Provide direct or indirect technical assistance to customers, co-workers, technicians, and administrative personnel as required. Work thoroughly with all departments of the company in support of the sale of parts, generators, engines, and services as required to meet the company’s goals. Provide professional conflict resolution with customers as required. Provide technical training to customers as needed. Traveling as required by customers. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task required. Medium to Expert skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) Excellent customer service skills Ability to work in a dynamic and fast environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Prolong periods sitting at a desk, using a computer and office equipment. Ability to walk around the production floor and lift to a maximum of 20 pounds without help. Ability to see peripheral, color, exposure to construction, noise and temperature extremes. PPE usage requirement
Job Qualifications 3 or more years of proven experience in complex mechanical-electrical equipment required. High School diploma or higher education required. 2 or more years of experience in generator controller programming with brands such as “Deep Sea Electronics”, “ComAp”, etc. required. 1 or more years of Tier 4 final technology and spark-initiated engine required. 5 years’ management experience required. 1 or more year of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment aftermarket operations.
