Position Summary:
The Generator Load Banking Technician is responsible for testing all previously assembled generators, insuring and validating that the product meets correct operational performance and Hipower’s quality and testing standards. The role also calls for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing any non-conforming issues while reporting these to QC.
Job Functions:
- Conduct load testing on previously assembled units, ensuring product meets correct operational performance and Hipower’ s quality and testing standards.
- Inspect and validate product functions.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair any non-conforming issues.
- Report any non-conforming issues to QC team.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Documents actions by completing logs and records.
- Performs hi-pot test.
- Programs generator controllers with correct software version and functions
- Consistently follows and adheres to all safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Quality Management System through the correct execution of its functions and/or activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
- Other duties related assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to read and understand production schedule and accept verbal direction to successfully complete procedures and assigned tasks, required.
- Detail-oriented for completing required paperwork and information systems inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Usage of common hand tools and electrical meter required to perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Job experience in an industrial production environment with the related safety training preferred.
- Excellent Customer Skills
- Self-motivated and quick learner
- Good communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus
- This position will involve working indoors and outdoors in extreme weather. Normal auto and air travel hazards will apply.
- Position will frequently be working around electricity and other potential hazards.
- Required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; frequently move around workstation/area and production floor, using PPE all the time; position self to access different areas and angles of the product being assembled, to include stooping, bending, and crouching.
- Lifts, pushes/pulls, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis. May have to move object from one location to another.
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and steal toes shoes usage required.
- Frequently use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment and install components or move parts/equipment.
- Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work to perform inspections and in reading schematics, peripheral, profundity, blueprints, and instructions.
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in electrical/electronic or mechanical field, with knowledge of electrical principles, required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- One year or more experience working in a manufacturing and mechanical environment required.
- 1 year of experience reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to travel – 15 to 25% of the time.
- 1 or more year experience in electrical systems.
