What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Team Lead position at YAMADA North America, Inc.?
Job Summary This position is responsible for the supervision of Associates machining, processing, and assembly of parts to be shipped to major automobile manufacturers for final assembly.
Shift: Monday-Friday 3p-11:30pm (additional hours/days as required)
Essential Functions
- Coordinates shift exchange meetings and relays information to subordinates
- Monitors hourly outputs and calculates target variances
- Troubleshoots minor equipment issues.
- Tracks inventory variances.
- Works with support departments.
- Resolves personnel issues and consults with Administration.
- Trains associates to operate and repair equipment utilizing TWI Training Guide and timely completion of documentation.
- Completes daily TPM sheets and inputs into network.
- Reviews and authorizes paperwork completed by associates.
- Provides supervision and guidance to associates and improves associate relations.
- Completes departmental paperwork including weekly and monthly reports, inventory investigations, associate evaluations and attends required trainings.
- Trains associates on all aspects of quality.
Other Functions
- Promotes a safe work environment.
- Communicates safety, quality and production issues.
Education Associates degree preferred, High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience One to two years of supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing facility, familiarity with PDCA, 5-S and root cause analysis. Formal training in front line leadership preferred
Skills Position requires excellent interpersonal skills, computer software knowledge, ability to effectively supervise and motivate industrial labor, proactively support the company’s position on issue avoidance, enforce company policies and abide by applicable employment laws.
Working Conditions Position requires the ability to type, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift up to 30 pounds, stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime and withstand temperatures of up to 100 degrees.
Travel This position may require occasional travel. Valid license is required for use of company car.
