About the Position:

As our part-time Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will work closely with our Payroll & Benefits Manager in everything from payroll setup to benefit reconciliation to new team onboarding (and all the good stuff in between). If you have a love for numbers and spreadsheets and a knack for critical problem-solving, then you could be the person we’ve been waiting for!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support all aspects of processing the semi-monthly payroll, including reviewing timesheets and payroll deductions for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with entering payroll and benefits changes into payroll and aligned information systems i.e. iSolved (our payroll platform)
  • Act as the Payroll & Benefits Manager’s primary back-up for processing payroll
  • Assist with monthly payroll liability reconciliations to tie out benefits
  • Assist in onboarding new team members and in training our existing team members on payroll and benefits processes
  • Support the payroll audit cadence, including year-end payroll and W2 distribution
  • Assist in answering payroll and benefits related team member questions, requests, and resolutions, ensuring excellent team member experiences are maintained
  • Support the annual benefits open enrollment process
  • Foster effective relationships with all stakeholders; both internal groups (People, Finance, team members, and team leads) and external third-party vendors to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely internal guest service
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of what matters to team members as it relates to total rewards and make recommendations accordingly
  • Provide support with current systems management and any future changes (or integrations) to systems including data warehousing, migration, and applicable systems training
  • Assist with supporting People team on wellness initiatives and activities
  • Help out with other HR-related functions that create a holistic understanding of the People department

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • Legally authorized to live and work in the United States
  • A deep respect for the confidentiality required to support payroll and benefits functions
  • An unparalleled passion for data, numbers, and detail; and the ability to translate data and trends into key insights and recommendations
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills, as you’ll assist team members in understanding their payroll and utilizing their benefits
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and record keeping practices preferred
  • A natural propensity to keep our data and information (documents, files, folders, etc.) organized and readily accessible
  • A (some might say) rare love and appreciation for payroll (bonus points for experience with iSolved - totally not necessary, though)
  • A proven ability to constantly prioritize multiple projects in a get sh!t done atmosphere
  • While you likely adore structure - and equally adore creating structure - you’ll also feel equally comfortable with ambiguity as part of a rapid-growth company
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to learn new software programs, create and manipulate reports, and database maintenance; (huge props for experience with Google Workspace, iSolved, Lively, Guideline, Slack, Monday.com)
  • An appreciation for the fact that XYPN, and the world, are constantly evolving and changing and general excitement in knowing that this position, and the People department, will change in tandem

What Would Make Us Drool

Compensation & Benefits

  • $26.33 per hour
