Client Overview:
This position will support the FBI’s Enterprise Operations Center (EOC) which is tasked with the responsibility of continuously monitoring and maintaining the FBI's Enterprise computer system. The FBI manages a large number of programs that vary in scope and complexity to include three distinct networks at the Unclassified, Secret and Top Secret classification levels. Over 1,100 communication circuits connect three domestic data centers, 53 CONUS field divisions, three OCONUS field divisions, approximately 500 smaller domestic/OCONUS remote offices, and 91 offices located in foreign countries. The FBI services approximately 44,000 users. The EOC staff provides enterprise-level Information Technology (IT) operations and maintenance support for all applications, servers, network devices, wireless smartphones, multi-function printers and workspace equipment at all FBI facilities.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Network Administrator to join our team on a new effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing continuous pro-active monitoring and management of the unclassified, classified, and WAN Transport networks. An 8-hour work shift spanning the business operations hours of 11:30pm to 8:00am, Sunday - Thursday. 
Primary duties of this position include:
  • Monitoring, maintenance and advanced support of voice, data, and/or video communications networks across the Enterprise.
  • Providing 1st level resolution and customer support to all customer managed networks.
  • Using customer outage tracking software, accurately document all critical network and/or VTC outages.
  • Providing full lifecycle support for Customer Data; Video and Voice communications services in CONUS and OCONUS locations; including the installation; testing; operation; maintenance; and management of designated network communications systems and associated equipment for FBI managed infrastructures for all levels of security classification in accordance with applicable NSA regulations.
  • The main tools utilized for this position at the NOC include: HPNA, HP NNMi, Putty, SharePoint, GEM, WhatsUpGold, Cisco IOS, and various network monitoring and analysis tools as required.

Requirements

Position Requirements: 
  • Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Perform work onsite at the customer location in Chantilly, VA.
  • Telework is not permitted
Required Qualifications:  
  • Basic network troubleshooting techniques and experience.
  • Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of the policies and procedures as they pertain to the network environment.
  • Proactively manage the Enterprise Network for resource availability.
  • Create and report all outage notifications and network related issues according to standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of both LAN and WAN troubleshooting.
  • GEM experience for monitoring and configuration of crypto equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of CISCO routers and switches along with VTC network hardware and software tools listed above.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the network environment.
  • Participate in engineering projects or upgrades as tasked by management.
  • Process RMA’s for CISCO and other equipment as required.
  • Provide After Action Reports (AARs) for Problem Management resolution.
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance to lower tier employees.
  • Monitor network router/switch status, respond to network alarms, and respond to associated problems routed by the Customer Support staff.
  • If remote access to network devices cannot be managed, provide telephone support to the local Field Office ITS support staff
  • Resolve or escalate tickets received from the Service Desk
  • Remotely access routers, switches, Taclanes, and other equipment to provide support
  • Manage connection outages, bandwidth utilization and peaks
  • Create network reports using Riverbed to show problem trends 
Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications: 
  • CCENT or equivalent certification a plus
  • 2 years’ experience providing similar support is desired
