Position Description

The Director of IT will have responsibility for all aspects of the internal customer’s enterprise information technology services, including Microsoft-based core system environments (Windows, Office 365, etc.), Business Systems (Deltek Costpoint, ADP, and other business systems), endpoint devices, and networking. This director will lead the development and operations of enterprise information systems and networks in support of company goals and government requirements. This includes the development of supplier agreements and the use of leveraged resources to deliver services to the internal customer’s engineering, business development, finance, and human resources stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesThis director-level position will report directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of X-Energy. As part of the overall X-Energy IT team they will be responsible for the following:

  • Effectively lead and oversee internal customer’s enterprise IT services teams, IT field services, and program-specific IT functions in all activities, in alignment with company standards and policies
  • Guide and provide oversight of internal customers’ Enterprise Business Services and enterprise resource planning IT functions.
  • Work closely with internal customer leadership, information technology, and program stakeholders, and clients to define and deploy highly secure, flexible, and adaptable solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in internal customer’s enterprise information technology design, implementations, and architecture review processes
  • Manage annual budget planning and execution for enterprise IT capabilities within the X-Energy Information Technology department.
  • Serve as an internal stakeholder and internal point of escalation for on-time, on-budget delivery of IT services to internal customers’ operations and projects.
  • Apply internal customers’ cybersecurity vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Work with internal customer business units to assess and address IT security risks.

  • Robust analytical, data processing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in process formulation and improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills, including managing multiple projects under strict timelines and working effectively in a dynamic environment to meet objectives.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate IT personnel.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in information technology engineering, production operations, architecture, and/or technical management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or comparable professional experience.
  • Experience with the leadership of small- and medium-scale teams to achieve business goals.
  • Experience in leading within a fast-paced, complex organization.
  • Relevant industry and information security certifications are desired.
  • In-depth understanding of information technology processes and best practices, including ITIL service delivery, that best support the requirements of the US Government and highly regulated industry customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise and cloud technologies, including secure mobile device and endpoint system management, server virtualization, software-defined networks, and integrated telephony.
  • In-depth understanding of public and US Government cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Experience supporting internal and external service level agreements.
  • Solid knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery standards and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of business management processes, including employing information security risk management and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Awareness of key legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven management skills in mission-critical IT production operations or business supporting role.
