The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role on the team that includes the Controller and Staff Accountant. The accounting team leads the month end close process that generates the company’s GAAP based financial results.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements. Key responsibilities include compiling, summarizing, and analyzing account information to generate appropriate journal entries.
• Help Controller with the monthly accounting close process while also playing key role in the construction and maintenance of a strong internal control environment that facilitates financial reporting integrity.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function and serve as a key interface role with Wyre’s customers and vendors.
• Responsible for bi-weekly payroll function for employee base where wages include salaried, hourly, bonus and commission type compensation. Other activities include remittances for state and federal taxes and other employee withholdings.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations while resolving any discrepancies.
• Analyze, research and document monthly P&L and Balance Sheet variances.
• Assist with providing documentation for the annual financial statement audit.
• Ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance
• CPA preferred

• Experience with financial GAAP reporting requirements

• A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to demonstrate good judgment
• Maintain flexibility in an evolving role that has growth potential
