Wyndham Garden Norfolk is Hiring a HOTEL NIGHT MANAGER Near Norfolk, VA

Job Description

The Night Manager on Duty position will be responsible for monitoring the overall service and security of the property on the second shift. The Manager on Duty will work with the department managers of the Front Desk, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping to ensure guest concerns are 100% resolved on the night shift. The challenges that are created will be documented and sent directly to the department heads. The Night Manager will also be responsible to complete any projects deemed by the VP of Operations or Assistant General Manager.
This is a lead position that involves administering the Wyndham Garden policies and procedures. The Night Manager is the service ambassador to all guests and associates and provides a safe environment for all persons on company property.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: General knowledge of the principles and practices of hotel management preferred. 3 years of hotel management or supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Evening and long hours, sometime required including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to move, walk, and patrol constantly the property grounds throughout the shift (up to 8 hours), this is not a desk job.
As Night Manager, you are the first point of contact for dealing with any general management related inquiries that arise within the hotel. The position predominately involves face-to-face contact with guests and represents senior-level hotel management in their absence. It is also the management contact point for any hotel operational issues that arise that cannot be resolved by the department.
Specifically, the Night Manager will perform the following tasks at the highest level of service.
  • Be visible in the hotel lobby and other public areas, particularly during busy times
  • Monitor the activities of the entire hotel by conducting walk through of the entire property in and out
  • Ensure that all guest complaints are handled promptly and completely
  • Complete and submit nightly manager on duty report after shift is completed
  • Ensure the F&B operation is adequately staffed and following proper procedures
  • Offer current knowledge on all hotel products, services, policies, and emergency procedures
  • Monitor guest satisfaction reports and implement actions to improve results
  • Handle any management issues or emergencies that arise, record them as required, and remediate as required
  • Manage room inventory to ensure proper room types are assigned and maximize our rate strategies
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A Night Manager is always working on behalf of our guests and working with other team members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • A minimum of 3 years of Front Office supervisory experience in the hotel sector
  • Current knowledge of health, safety, and security procedures
  • Calm, efficient, quick thinker and has the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook computer programs
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
