Senior AccountantLocation: headquarters in Santa Barbara, CA
Wyatt Technology is seeking a highly motivated and efficient candidate to support the Accounting team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Finance team and will work closely with our CFO at Wyatt. This is a hands-on position and the ability to multitask and work with others is essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely accounting support, data entry, documentation and analysis for business needs as required, including monthly and year end close.
• Assist with the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements.
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
• Perform costing analysis for inventory variances.
• Analyze and explain monthly, annual and ad hoc costing variances.
• Perform account reconciliations for inventory and RTV; track and audit capital assets.
• Assist with implementing, maintaining, and documenting internal controls and procedures.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
• Provide support to CFO as requested.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Previous experience with cost accounting (preferably in manufacturing environment)
• Proficiency managing accounting functions within an ERP system
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field, and/or a combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate financial concepts and/or analytical findings
• Must be able to take the initiative on projects and tasks, and work proactively with management to achieve results
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Access
