This Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Project Manager with an Architectural and Engineering background to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a seller-doer and have solid project management experience, technical background, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The Project Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of a project. This includes identifying, pursuing and winning opportunities; resource and design planning; estimating; and coordination and control of a project from its inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that the client’s requirements regarding the functionality and standards are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring that that the project is completed successfully. The Project Manager is responsible for dealing with any delays that may happen during the project, emergencies and/or unforeseen conditions that may occur.

Your Impact

  • Strong commitment to company’s safety and quality programs and ensure safety practices are adhered to on all projects.
  • Strategic planning, program management and master planning for various industries and/or facility types
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Planning, directing and coordinating investigative studies and all types of designs.
  • Planning, coordinating and leading design charettes with stakeholders
  • Generating proposals, change order requests, and tracking client billings.
  • Scheduling, estimating and managing the time required to complete projects.
  • Managing/working on technical assignments and directing design related projects.
  • Managing scope, organization, budget, and schedule from simple to complex projects.
  • Managing multi-discipline teams and multiple projects at one time.
  • Coordinating and working with multi-disciplined engineering staff throughout the U.S; determining the best source of internal resources and ensuring enough project staff are available.
  • Ensuring projects are completed within established Design Standards.
  • Ensuring projects are completed within schedule and budget; and developing a contingency strategy if schedule or budget are not being met.
  • Obtaining the necessary licenses or permits.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Some overnight travel required.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • BS. in engineering
  • 8 years of related project and program management experience, as well as strong experience with industrial and Federal projects.
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Strong experience and success in business development / seller doer role
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required.
  • Desire for continuous learning and ability to learn quickly on the job.
  • Must be computer proficient with working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Construction background
