This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Graduate Environmental Engineer for our Roseville, CA office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the development of processes and infrastructure relating to water supply, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, pollution control, and preserving the quality of the environment by averting the contamination and degradation of air, water, and land resources. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

Your Impact

Under general supervision, collect and compile environmental data from samples of air, soil, water, sludge, and other matrices for engineering analysis.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
Assist with performing basic professional environmental engineering work relating to air emission sources, hazardous or solid waste facilities, water supply facilities, industrial and agricultural facilities, pollution sources, existing site conditions, water resource, and underground storage tanks.
Assist with verifying the characteristics of a site, providing entry-level technical assistance on various environmental issues.
Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, statistical documentation, and logbooks.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and in groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Willing and able to travel to projects within the U.S.
• Passenger vehicle driving will be required for some services.
• Submittal of a cover letter with your application is appreciated.
• Ability to travel locally, and within the state, up to 50% of the time. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• FE/EIT registration
• Relevant work experience, co-op, or internship
• Relevant environmental engineering coursework
• Experience with Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA), HEC-HMS or related software programs
• Experience with AutoCAD, particularly Civil3D
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER is required for some fieldwork; it will be provided if needed; preferential consideration for candidates with this training.
• Experience collaborating with geotechnical and other civil engineering disciplines.
