WSP is looking for an Environmental Planner to join our interdisciplinary team of professionals to support National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) project work. This dynamic team of over 50 individuals is focused on natural and cultural resources and NEPA compliance and works collaboratively within the region and with other planners, scientists, and engineers within Wood to successfully meet our clients’ needs for impact analysis and permitting. This position will appeal to individuals with an understanding of the NEPA process, technical writing, good work ethic, and genuine interest in career growth and working with a diverse team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have recently graduated from an accredited college/university or with up to 5 years of consulting experience emphasizing development of NEPA documents. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on NEPA environmental assessments, environmental impact statements and related technical studies, and similar impact assessment documentation for a variety of clients in the energy, transportation, and government sectors. Opportunities for growth include becoming a Subject Matter Expert, development of client relationships, and manging tasks/projects.
This team is based in the Mississippi Valley Region with staff currently located in our St. Louis, Jefferson City, Louisville, Lexington, Dayton and Nashville offices. We envision a mix of remote, hybrid, and in-office working opportunities moving forward. Remote workers must be willing to come into offices, potentially with travel, for occasional in-person meetings.
This role will serve a critical function for the delivery of environmental documents. This position will support on-going environmental impact assessment projects with the following key responsibilities.
