WSP USA is Hiring an Emergency Management Specialist Near DTC PKWY, CO

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for part-time, on-call Emergency Management Specialists for our Denver, CO office. The following location will also be considered:  New York City, NY. Be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

We are seeking individuals who are eager to assist during disasters on an on-call basis as a reservist employee, with the availability to deploy with little or no advance notice and for potentially long durations.

Your Impact

  • Support Emergency Management team in servicing clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide.
  • Deploy to Emergency Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster.
  • Perform a variety of duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions.
  • Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility.
  • Support Emergency Management Project Management functions. 
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma
  • 7 years experience, including a 1 years experience on emergency management deployments, working in a Response or Recovery field operations role.
  • Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques
  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification (IS-100/102/200/700/800/815)
  • Travel Required - Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice and potentially for long durations, which could be up to a minimum of 30 days.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management (or related field)
  • Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience
  • Previous experience working at Field Staging Areas or related environment
  • 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification, which would also require being able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • DODAT1 
  • 1st Aid/CPR/AED

Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Expected Salary: $54,200-$102,200
