WSP USA is Hiring a Construction Manager Near EAST, MD

This Opportunity 

WSP is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager with expertise in managing construction of water distribution systems & treatment facilities and wastewater collection systems, pump stations and treatment facilities for our Anne Arundel County, MD Office.

Your Impact 
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Construction Manager to support our Construction management and Inspection services related to Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects.
  • Overseeing the construction management team consisting of inspectors, document control personnel, safety professionals and schedulers, and manage the document control process using Primavera Contract Manager.
  • Performing staging and logistics planning.
  • Managing contract administration activities and the preparation of Construction Progress Reports to document progress and to identify key issues that need to be addressed by the client team. 
  • Performing constructability reviews and value engineering analyses.
  • Evaluating and reviewing contractor schedules and pay applications and making recommendations to the client.
  • Evaluating the merits of contractor issued change orders and claims and making recommendations to the client.
  • Coordinating with different departments within an individual client’s organization as well as with third party utilities and outside stakeholders.
  • Acting as the Owner’s agent with regards to the construction process.
  • Understanding, evaluating and solving construction related field issues.
  • Assisting in the RFI, submittal, and change order review process and reviewing of the contractor’s work schedule and schedule implementation.
  • Assisting in negotiating sub consultant participation in contracts.
  • Negotiating task orders and developing cost proposals for clients.

Who You Are
Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related technical field
  • 3-5 years experience in construction management of water treatment facilities and wastewater collection systems, pump stations and treatment facilities.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with the use of a variety of project control systems such as Contract Manager, P6, MS Project, SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
