WSP USA is Hiring a Subcontract Administrator Near SKY, CA

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Subcontracts Administrator for our San Diego, CA office. The following locations will also be considered: any other major WSP office in California or the Western US. Be involved in projects with our Subcontracts Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

  • Provide guidance to internal clients regarding subcontract type, higher-tier contract requirements, insurance, and risk considerations, subcontracting practices, and issue resolution.
  • Issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), receive and evaluate proposals, and perform cost/price analysis to determine if pricing is fair and reasonable
  • Prepare and issue subcontracts and purchase orders to vendors and subcontractors and conduct negotiations with all levels of supplier/subcontractor management and obtain legal review and management approval of changes to standard terms and conditions
  • Manage the execution of subcontracts and/or purchase orders and modifications of varying dollar value, risk, creativity and complexity for services and commodities for offices assigned by supervisor to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures and good business practices
  • Take initiative to resolve subcontractor performance problems, changes, disputes and claims and ensure the implementation of the most appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and Change Orders in ERP system for each individual subcontract or purchase order
  • Interface with IT, insurance, tax, health and safety and other applicable departments as required
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field with minimum of 3-5 years experience in drafting, editing, and negotiating subcontracts/contracts, preferably in the engineering, infrastructure, or environmental consulting or remediations business sectors for federal, state, local, and commercial clients
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with proactive attitude
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, and collaborate with team members and solve problems in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of various contract compensation types Experience with federal subcontracts and FAR/DFARS knowledge and influences on procurement is a plus 
  • Proficient in MS Office 365, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat.

Compensation and Benefits: 

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. 

Expected Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
