This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Field Engineer for our Birmingham, AL office. Be involved in projects with our Earth and Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Coordination of design submittal review.
• Preparation of site activity reports.
• Coordination of site meetings with the project contractor and designer.
• Documentation coordination and issuance.
• Reviewing and verifying contractor pay requests.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
• Conducting field investigations
• Construction observation and documentation
• Document interpretation to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project design drawings and technical specifications
• Interaction with contractors and owners in a positive and constructive manner to solve issues that arise during construction
• Participation and contribution to daily safety meetings
• Legal and safe operation of vehicle on behalf of the company

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• E.I.T. Licensure or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• The ability to communicate constructively with contractors, owners and Project Managers is essential.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
