As the Finance Director at Set Creative, you must be a strong financial leader with experience working in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this position is to maintain a strong internal control environment, oversee the general accounting function and operations, and build and maintain financial forecasting models.
Duties & Responsibilities
● Provides routine and ad-hoc financial analysis for the CFO and COO; improves reporting and forecasting visibility by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management
● Develops financial models, conducts benchmarking and processes analysis
● Manages and improves current forecasting model
● Assists in the submission of quarterly forecasts to WPP
● Identifies process improvement opportunities and works with the shared services finance team and
external developers to make system improvements and reporting automation
● Reports office and team utilization on a weekly and monthly basis and provides commentary to
management
● Performs vendor contract review
● Performs client contract review and maintains an understanding of all current client contracts and MSAs
● Assists the CFO and Controller to complete month-end activities
Qualifications
The list of qualifications includes the minimum qualifications necessary for any new employee for this position, such as specific prior work experience, certifications/licenses, technical knowledge of software, machinery, or tools, and physical abilities such as relevant lifting, bending, walking, and/or stooping.
● 8 years experience in the field of financial and accounting management
● Prior experience with a creative agency is highly desired
● Experience with financial analysis and financial modeling
● Strong analytical skills to create and innovate analysis model and forecasting models
● Experience implementing business intelligence tools to analyze multi-dimensional nature of the financial data
● Experience with Netsuite preferred
● Proficient in Excel; familiarity with Google Suite desired
● Thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP) and International
● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment
● Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with co-workers at a variety of levels, across many
disciplines
● Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills required
● Strong financial understanding of budgeting, estimating, and agency profitability
● A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical
thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
● Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail
● Exceptional initiative and follow-through skills
