WP Rawl is Hiring a Production Supervisor Near Pelion, SC

WP Rawl is a grower, processor, and distributor of farm fresh vegetables harvested year round. We are currently in search of a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor supporting our processing facility in Pelion, SC.
Description:
  • Directs daily department activities in order to meet production goals.
  • Confers with management, production and marketing staff to determine manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.
  • Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Reviews and establishes material, equipment and manpower resource requirements.
  • Coordinates production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution.
  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring both preventive maintenance programs and repairs.
  • Administer safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees.
  • Generates productivity reports and other operations metrics.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires demonstrated leadership skills and a minimum of 3 years of operations or related experience.
  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of WP Rawl’s functional standards.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of WP Rawl policies and procedures. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Inspection: components, measuring tools; Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Impacts the immediate operations of the team or their functional area. Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area. Executes and provides input to functional processes. Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives.
  • Makes decisions for sections/sub-functions. Decisions may affect sections/sub-functions
  • Works on assignments that require coordination within the function. Has tactical focus within and across sections/sub-functions. Solves a mix of routine and non-routine issues within defined policies and procedures. Recommends/selects the proper solution or approach for business situations of low to medium complexity. Works on multiple assignments of moderate scope and impact (such as multiple lines).
  • Interacts primarily with teammates and supervisors within the function. Presents, organizes and conveys problems or issues within the function. Communicates and ‘sells’ ideas, effectively influencing teammates where appropriate. May be technical resource within a functional area. Partners with external or internal parties in a team to provide business solutions.
  • Identifies skills needed within the team and works toward obtaining proper mix to achieve established goals and objectives. Demonstrates skills in teaching leading and mentoring.

  • Includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit.
