Workwell Occupational Medicine, LLC is Hiring a Medical Assistant/Front Office Specialist Float Near Aurora, CO

Job Description:

MBI/Workwell Occupational Medicine is currently seeking candidates for a Medical Assistant/Front Office FLOAT for our Aurora Southeast clinic located 2250 S. Parker Road. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious medical office professional who wants to be part of a dynamic and growing occupational healthcare company. MBI/Workwell is a highly respected specialty practice in the Front Range community and we pride ourselves on taking care of our patients, as well as our teammates. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Starting pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. DOE $1500 Signing Bonus to be paid in two increments (after 1 month and 6 months).

FRONT OFFICE DUTIES:

  • Patient greeting: Greet patients in a welcoming manner. Notify Medical Assistants and Providers when patients are ready. If paperwork is required, make sure to obtain, prepare and complete required sections before providing to Medical Assistant.
  • Obtain Consents: Accountable for obtaining consent for treatment from patients for General treatment, Drug and Alcohol screenings, Immunizations and Physical Capability Exams.
  • Answer Phones: Answer all telephone calls in a professional manner and direct to appropriate person as required. Take detailed, accurate messages. Check voice mail and return calls in a timely manner.
  • Scheduling:Accurately schedule clinic appointments for: Work Comp injuries, physicals, DOT Physicals, immunizations, STAT referrals to specialists, scheduling scans/MRI’S/X-rays, JSA, FCE’S, physical therapy and massage therapy appointments.
  • Manage all work comp visits:Schedule appointments, add orders, coordinate paperwork, verify charges are entered by providers, keep employers and insurance companies informed of patient’s progress via faxes / emails.
  • Fax or email:All m-forms and dictation daily when required or by insurance company or employer client.
  • Attachments:Attach scans and faxes to patients’ files.
  • Other duties as assigned

BACK OFFICE DUTIES:

  • Audiograms: Demonstrates proficiency to use audiogram booth, maintaining calibration/maintenance logs and resources with accuracy.
  • Breath Alcohol Testing/Drug Screens: Must demonstrate proficiency with performing all types of Alcohol Testing (breath / saliva) and urine collection drug screens. Is required to consistently perform testing in accordance with client company protocols. Must wear proper PPE at all times while performing tests and must be able to demonstrate a measurable understanding and implementation of calibration/verification of the BAT machine. This includes keeping the log accurately and in accordance with standards.
  • Physical Exams: Demonstrates a competent ability to prepare all patients for physical exams in accordance with company protocol with minimal to no errors, while also following any specific OSHA guidelines and mandates. DOT, Basic and Respirator exams are included in this expectation.
  • Takes Vital Signs: This includes, but is not limited to: Blood Pressure, Weight, Pulse and temperature. Accurately records information into the EHR system.
  • Visual Acuity Exams: Dependent on specific clinic access, the Medical Assistant- must be able to administer Ishihara, Snellen and Titmus exams proficiently on a consistent basis.
  • Specimen Shipment: Schedules pickups for lab work. Ensures blood and/or urine specimens are ready for pick up by carrier in a timely manner.
  • Fit Testing: Demonstrates clinical efficiency with qualitative and quantitative fit testing for respirator and N95 masks. This includes, but is not limited to, printing of results and re-testing as needed.
  • Travels between physical clinics as assigned, providing coverage for staff absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours

Clinic hours are approximately 8am -5pm (vary by location), Monday - Friday, No weekends. Hours are dependent on business and clinic needs.

Physical Requirements

Standing 23 % of the time. Walking 25% of the time. Bending /Squatting/Kneeling 7 % of the time. Reaching 10% of the time. Lifting up to 20 lbs. 5 % of the time. Sitting and reaching 30% of the time

Required Experience:


Education, Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of relevant medical office experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current certification/ registration from a recognized Medical Assistant Training Program (preferred but not required)
  • Current First Aid/ CPR certification from recognized program (American Red Cross, etc.) (preferred but not required)
  • Certification for Federal and Non-Federal Drug Testing and Breath Alcohol Testing required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Spanish bi-lingual (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
