The Data & Analytics team at Workrise is a centralized team that sits in the PEX (Product & Engineering) org and consists of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts & Data Scientists. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to bring technical leadership and engineering experience to the data team. The ideal candidate is experienced in building data pipelines as well as transforming data from its raw state into clean and consumable objects.

What you'll be doing:

• You will be responsible for building & maintaining data pipelines ingesting & processing information from various sources that feed our data lake.
• You will also help transform raw data into consumable & curated datasets to support enterprise decisions.
• You'll be proactively driving the technical roadmap for our data platform based on current and future demands.
• You'll be partnering with the Data & Analytics leadership to prioritize & ensure business requirements are met.
• You'll be creating and/or overseeing the development of data pipelines, extracting data from our various applications (internal & external sources) into the Data Platform.
• You’ll help drive the ingestion and transformation roadmap of internal/external data sources to support the ever-changing business evolution.
• You'll operate high-quality, cloud-based data services, ensuring uptime & performance within SLOs. 
• You’ll work with 1st party and 3rd party data sources including external APIs and various database technologies
• Write automated testing and monitoring for ensuring successful operation of our platform
• Managing and maintaining our data orchestration platform, Prefect
• Applying and ensuring data governance policies and personal data protections consistently across all of our data sources
• Enabling the business to access and utilize data for impactful analysis guiding day to day decision making

Requirements:

• You are comfortable and enjoy working with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, business, and analytics.
• You are expected to be a leader in the data organization ,ie:, coaching the team on technical matters, defining best practices, and creating coding standards and patterns that can be reused by the rest of the engineers.
• You have built and managed Data Lakes & Data Warehouses.
• You have 5 years of experience in a Software / Data Engineering role.
• You are very comfortable modeling data (dims, facts, star-schema, denorm, etc.)
• You have experience with cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Spark, etc)
• Good understanding of APIs and data processing (batched and streaming).
• Solid track record of partnering and supporting Business Intelligence, Analytics and Data Science requirements.
• Very comfortable modeling data - both OLTP & OLAP.You are well versed in at least one cloud vendor (AWS, Azure, GCP)You have strong experience in SQL and Python.
• Lastly, you have strong communication skills - comfortable interacting with both engineering and business focused teams.
• Our current data stack: Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, Prefect & GCP Cloud.
