WorkCare Inc. is Hiring a Senior Application Developer (FT) Near Anaheim, CA

The Senior Application Developer leads development of critical system components and functionality. This includes hands on programming, system debugging, code reviews, and development of operational procedures. Coordinates with Lead Application Developers to ensure standards are being followed. In general, this role is responsible for producing scalable and functional applications and services that meet the company’s needs.
This position is 70% back end and 30% front end.
Must be willing to work Pacific Standard Time hours.
Job Details:
  • This is a regular, full-time role with WorkCare, Inc. No C2C, contractors, or 3rd party recruiters.
  • This is a "deep in the code" developing position. It wouldn't be a fit for someone looking to move into management in the near future but there is the opportunity to mentor the team.
  • Must reside in and be authorized to lawfully work in the United States for any employer. Sponsorship not provided.
  • Must have solid communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical leadership and employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Hands on in implementing solutions, technically guiding extended teams during development and deployment of solutions.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and strong collaboration with subject matter experts, project managers, and functional leaders.
  • Apply in-depth technical knowledge to develop applications across one or more technology areas, such as web front-end applications, APIs, web services and application database integrations.
  • Plan, design, develop, test, debug, and deploy highly available applications.
  • Document key SDLC processes by producing formal documents like solution architecture documents and technical system design specifications, etc.
  • Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.
  • Participate in troubleshooting complex issues and resolving defects.
  • Participate in prioritization of major projects based on business needs, budget and risk reduction.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving and/or maximizing adoption and usage of these systems.
  • Coach / mentor junior developers, contractors, or interns to help grow the team’s overall skill-base and elevate team velocity both internationally and domestically.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • A college degree in Computer Science, management information systems, or closely related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development.
  • 10 years’ experience with Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio or other comparable development tools.
  • Extensive experience in C# .NET, MS SQL, Angular, JavaScript, LINQ, web services experience in .NET Core, .NET frameworks, other comparable languages, and JSON format.
  • 5 years’ experience using the principles and patterns of system design.
  • 3 years’ experience writing workflow automations and software integrations.
  • 5 years designing and optimizing relational database queries.
  • 3 years designing and optimizing NoSql databases.
  • Experience working with industry standard version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, CodeCommit).
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience with SSRS.
  • Experience with setting client and management expectations.
  • Experience with developing against AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, Aurora MySQL, and DynamoDB, S3) a plus.
  • Experience with client-side frameworks (e.g., Angular JS) big plus.

  • Advanced skill in analyzing and understanding business / technology system architectures, databases, and client applications.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with other technical personnel as well as functional users at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to debug / trace code, resolve issues quickly, and analyze data to draw business relevant conclusions.
  • Ability to forecast level of effort for development work, track progress and quantify remaining work.
  • Ability to create technical documentation and user instruction guides.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet project timelines.
  • Willingness to learn a wide array of technologies from both current and potential partners and clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes based around client needs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.
  • Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to create and edit written materials.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Computer Skills:
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language and relational databases such as, but not limited to, Access and SQL Server preferred.
  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
  • Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy and safety requirements.
This position has a salary of $130,000-$140,000. This position is eligible for the Company’s discretionary bonus plan.
