Woodgrain is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer (Senior) Near Fruitland, ID

Pay is $66,000-$88,000

Woodgrain is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II that can utilize their machine design and project management experience to lead in the development of new capital projects. The Mechanical Engineer II will partner with management and the engineering team to achieve project objectives including safety, quality, efficiency, accurate budgets, and deadlines. This responsibility will include overseeing the research, design, construction, and installation of equipment created for sites in the Millwork Division.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Partner with management and the Millwork Engineering Manager to develop equipment design and cost estimates as new capital projects are considered.

· Lead in project management to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.

· Assist in the education and development of other engineering team members.

· Develop effective layout and equipment drawings for projects.

· Watch over the fabrication personnel as they build the designed equipment to ensure both quality and accuracy.

· Work with management to evaluate selected manufacturing processes and equipment.

· Develop modification plans to existing process procedures and equipment to improve operations.

· Supervise fabrication personnel through the fabrication and installation.

  • Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of specifications.
  • Provide training to junior team members.
  • Prepare detailed equipment specifications and contracts.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

· 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer, or Design Engineer, including experience designing machines and equipment used in manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to travel out of state up to 10% of the year, as projects require.

  • Proficient computer and networking skills.
  • Commitment to working in a team oriented and continuous improvement environment.

Ability to define and analyze problems, evaluating relevant facts and develop effective solutions.
