Under the direction and guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day recruiting, on-boarding and administrative assistance and providing support to our Team Members. This position supports a broad range of human resources functions including talent acquisition, new hire orientation and onboarding, and maintaining the accuracy of employee data and personnel records. The Human Resources Generalist will maintain confidentiality to protect all human resources information.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Partner with leaders to help coach and mentor.
  • Maintain employee-related databases. Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and the company.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Process, verify and maintain personnel-related documentation, including but not limited to background checks, new hire paperwork, E-Verify, and status changes.
  • Maintain employee hardcopy files as well as online files. Inputting employee personal data into the human resources information/computer system (HRIS) database.
  • Process various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new-hire, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc.
  • Engage with the Human Resources Manager in various community and school events and initiatives to build an employment brand.
  • Assist HR Manager in identifying, evaluating, and resolving employee relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns.
  • Assist HR Manager in managing and implementing engagement committee events.
  • Complete documentation for employment verifications, medical support, and unemployment claimant responses.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable employment law-related regulations and statutes as well as organizational procedures and policies.
  • Partner with all team members to create a positive work environment and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial/Organizational Psychology or equivalent experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a plus!
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role in a plant environment is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and approachable demeanor.
  • A passion for working with people and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, human resources, and organizational development practices and procedures.
  • Ability to recruit and evaluate applicants using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, high energy, enthusiastic and detail-oriented
  • Proactive in anticipating issues and following through on a resolution.
  • Effective in prioritizing and executing tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform statistical analysis.
  • Previous HRIS experience, including applicant tracking systems a plus. Knowledge of HR best practices and applicable laws and regulations required
