Wood Rodgers’ Las Vegas office has an excellent Survey Manager opportunity. This full-time role will manage the survey department and oversee project budgets. The successful candidate will be a professional land surveyor registered in the state of Nevada and California with previous management and land surveying experience.

Currently, our Nevada survey staff are located in Reno, and we are looking to build a strong, local group to our Las Vegas office. What you will be doing

• Oversee survey department and projects including preparing survey proposals, project scheduling, budgets and billing.
• Performs business development to secure additional survey projects.
• Supervise and positively motivate survey technicians and survey parties for quality project delivery.
• Plan and coordinate work of field survey parties performing design survey and construction staking activities and staff preparing reports.
• Manage work load, staffing and quality control for all survey efforts
• Develop and mentor staff
• Project management, including management of budget, scope and schedule for small, moderate and large land survey projects
• Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment
• Oversee Land Survey group performance with respect to financial and other metrics

What it takes

• Must be very knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, especially technical;
• Strong office computer skills (e.g. word, excel);
• Familiarity with local subdivision and zoning requirements;
• Excellent Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with labeling, parceling, styles, codes, feature lines and surfaces;
• Ability to direct and monitor construction layout services;
• Must be able to go to the field as needed and proficiently lead a crew or solve technical issues;
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; and
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

• 10 plus years of experience in Land Surveying;
• Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field;
• Nevada (required) and California (benefit) Professional Land Surveyor license
