An institutional investment firm located in downtown Indianapolis has an immediate need for an SQL Database Administrator. The SQL Database Administrator will work with end-users and senior management to broaden the scope of the current database application to more fully encompass data capture, analysis and reporting across all aspects of business. 

Responsibilities include:

Manage all aspects of line-of-business mySQL database, including:

• Configure/manage/update daily backup procedures using mySQL DUMP or similar mySQL native tools
• Configure/manage/update database-related scripts using Python or similar scripting tools
• Database maintenance/updates via mySQL SQL commands and mySQL WorkBench
• Upgrade the current 5.7.33 mySQL server software to the latest version of mySQL
• Document all configurations, processes and procedures relating to the database application.
• Interface/coordinate/collaborate with external IT Provider network located both locally and globally
• Provide front-line network and desktop support for facilities in Indianapolis

Experience/Expertise:

• SQL-based databases, with preference for mySQL
• Application requirements-gathering/definition/implementation experience
• Scripting tools like Python, etc.
• LAN-based office network troubleshooting
• Desktop/laptop front-line support
• Experience coordinating activities with external IT providers
