Job Description Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of The WNET Group. Specific areas of responsibility include: succession planning; talent management; change management; performance management; employee relations; employee engagement; training; compensation; and benefits. The VP Human Resources provides strategic leadership, articulating human resource needs and plans to the senior management team and the Personnel and Diversity Committee of the Board of Trustees. Key responsibilities include: • Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating the organization's human resource function and performance. Evaluating the human resource team and providing guidance for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing HR staff with professional and personal growth. • Translating the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. Developing HR strategies to support the achievement of The WNET Group’s overall business objectives. • Serving as strategic partner/advisor to senior management of each function within the organization on key organizational and management issues. • Overseeing talent management function and programs to identify talent within and outside The WNET Group open positions. • Developing and implementing human resource planning models for talent management and succession planning programs, with development programs to prepare employees for more significant responsibilities. • Developing and implementing progressive, proactive, and cost-effective compensation and benefits programs that motivate, incentivize and reward employees. • Continually assessing the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable markets. • Establishing credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees as an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. • Enhancing and/or developing, implementing and enforcing human resources policies and procedures of the WNET Group to improve overall operations and effectiveness, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture. • Continuing to monitor the effectiveness of a flexible/hybrid workforce and evolve policies, practices and procedures as needed for organizational results and employee safety. • Managing the budget of the Human Resources Department. • Ensuring compliance with all federal and local regulations and employment laws. • Partnering with Chief DEI Officer to promote DEI through policies, practices, procedures, and cultural norms. • Additional responsibilities, as assigned. Qualified candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, supervisory and leadership skills. Additional qualifications include: • A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience in a supervisory role. • Thorough knowledge of HR disciplines including employment-related laws and regulations; solid knowledge of compensation and benefits. • Analytical skills with ability to translate business strategy into HR plan. • Exceptional employee relations skill set; ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization. Candidates with the following are preferred: • MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related eld, SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certication. • Knowledge of and experience with Workday.
