Position Summary... Provides recommendations on training curriculum development by analyzing and evaluating training requests. Identifies skill or performance gaps. Develops training metrics which align with operational key performance indicators. Develops training content based on instructional methods and objectives. Provides feedback and support to ensure timelines, metrics, and work quality objectives are achieved. Collaborates with the key business partners to develop training content. Works with key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and approval of training programs. Supports the implementation of training development standards and governance by adhering to governance processes for content development and maintenance. Communicates standardized training processes to key business partners to ensure operational continuity. Identifies opportunities to replicate best practices and processes. Makes recommendations for training implementation and delivery approaches. Provides process definition and management for the organization. Ensures leadership and implementation teams have necessary training materials. Manages internal control assessment and remediation approaches. Prepares training development road maps and resource plans by analyzing the business impacts and requirements of implemented training practices. Supports the testing of different training approaches and evaluates results. Supports technology implementation projects. Collaborates with key business partners to create training technology rollout plans. Executes feedback process with Operations team members to evaluate program effectiveness. Determines necessary content changes and develops action plans to implement changes. Consolidates feedback for leadership. Provides input to business partners on training content deliverables. Ensures enhanced learner experiences by remaining current on course materials, learning technologies, tools, and practices. Ensures learning environments are conducive to learning. Engages subject-matter experts to develop practical application scenarios. Rehearses course content prior to delivery. Develops and administers assessments to gather data on the efficacy of training content and facilitation methods. Collaborates with the assessments team to research, compile, and analyze results. Reviews and creates action plans based on customer insights and industry knowledge. Develops and executes contingency plans. Implements and monitors program improvements to course content to ensure learning objectives are met. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of businesssolutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakehold ers; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. About this position The ideal candidate is responsible for designing innovative, and adaptive learning solutions which drive measurable performance improvement. An individual in this position is skilled in identifying ambiguous business problems using data, analytics, and skilled learning analysis. Our ideal candidate is a strong owner, able to work with full autonomy, owning the full-cycle learning process. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. What you’ll do: Independently research, conceptualize. design, and curate commercial grade learning content in support of strategic learning initiatives by applying up-to-date Instructional Design expertise. Develop learning interventions through a combination of research and interaction with SMEs along with collaboration with other designers and ensure that the content is accurate and conforms to the style guides and standards. Build relationships/partnerships with key stakeholders, sponsors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and project teams to analyze content gaps and lead conversations around developing training interventions that instils key behaviors in learners and produces measurable results. Develop and drive new standards and processes to ensure consistency across all programs and materials. Initiate and lead process improvement conversations and lead the team through changes. Create timelines for deliverables to be completed and evaluate training against established benchmarks to ensure effectiveness. Complete post training audits by reviewing and evaluating post implementation support requirements. Communicate feedback gathered during post training audits to key stakeholders; establish required actions based on feedback. Proactively move to where the work is, supporting Learning Architects by owning deliverables and managing development of complex learning objects. Embrace an agile mindset/way of working, while adapting to competing demands and shifting priorities of the business. Exchange ongoing constructive feedback about content development and creative design with peers, supervisors, and other collaborators across the broader Learning Services team. Our Expectations for this role Advocate and facilitate application of trends and advancements in the learning and development space to Walmart's content development, i.e. Bloom’s taxonomy, blended learning, etc. Exhibits the leadership expectation behaviors on a consistent basis. Consistently demonstrate and inspire emotional intelligence, creativity and strength in the face of change, obstacles, and adversity. Works independently and supports the development of large-scale design projects. Provides mentorship to peers and support the development of the broader team. Act as a business consultant with the Learning Architect and the business partner; knows how to adapt their communication style based upon audience and where appropriate push-back and negotiation is necessary; provides proactive problem-solving to the needs to the business partner. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology/Organizational Psychology, Communications, Education, Literature, or any related field. OR 5-8 years industry/related experience. Extensive experience in leveraging knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in creating training programs for higher level learner audiences (Store Manager and Leadership). Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external communication via email, online meetings, and face-to-face interactions. Good business acumen and the ability to work through ambiguous situations. Acute attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated proficiency in ADDIE/SAM design processes, MS Office, Rapid Authoring Tools. Experience in working with CMS and LMS platforms. Experience working with multiple team members and stakeholders. Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically. Be knowledgeable of ADA and inclusivity standards. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience and knowledge of retail would be preferred. Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, program management, or content-specific certifications as appropriate (CPTD, CPT, PMP, etc.). Experience with emerging learning technology trends for content creation (for example, gamification, AR/VR, xAPI). Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
