WiTricity is Hiring a Test Engineer Near Watertown, MA

We are seeking an experienced engineer to architect and develop hardware/software platforms used to validate WiTricity’s next generation Electric Vehicle (EV) wireless charging products and vehicle sub-systems. Based at our HQ in Watertown, MA facility, we are seeking candidates with the following experience:

  • Design & development of test fixtures used to validate products comprised of complex hardware and software content. These products should include those used in the automotive, industrial, or consumer markets.
  • Developed test fixtures which comprise electrical, mechanical, software sub-systems as well as tools for data collection and analysis.

Experience interfacing with product design engineers and product management to develop test requirements and plans.

  • Collaboration with external and internal resources & test equipment suppliers to support test fixture development.
  • Working independently in a fast paced, highly technical environment with concurrent projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop test fixtures used for WiTricity’s EV Wireless Charging Products and sub-components consisting of:
    • Wallbox equipment with connections to the electrical grid, Wireless Charing Pad, and Cloud
    • Wireless Charging Ground Pad including safety and position alignment systems
    • User experience (UI) and installation on-boarding process
    • Mobile phone application, WiTricity Cloud with OCCP & Data Collection, and Operator Portal
  • Develop Test Requirements and write Test Plan documentation based on input from Product Management and Design Engineers. At a high level, the products needing to be tested must meet the following:
    • Functional, Performance, Environmental, Safety, and Compliance Testing
    • Interoperability Testing against ISO, IEC, SAE and other Wireless Power Standards
    • Mechanical Stress & Vibration, Dust and Water (IP), Temperature & Humidity
  • Provide input and recommendation on test equipment purchases as well as external suppliers developing custom built systems used within the test environment.
  • Provide technical support to those on the design and test execution teams utilizing test fixtures
  • Collaborate with WiTricity NPI and Contract Manufacturing in development of manufacturing test fixtures with the goal of leveraging product test fixtures in manufacturing where possible.
  • Generate test reports
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • BS in a Technical field required (EE, ME, or Computer Science/Engineering strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience performing QA and testing on products consisting of electrical, software, and mechanical content.
  • Minimum of 3 years developing test or validation test software.
  • Experience writing detailed test plans and specification based on product requirements ensuring traceability.
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW and Python; Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA required.
  • Experience with quality systems such as ISO9000 preferred. Experience in automotive preferred.
  • Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional, global team members from design and development, product management, and customer support.
  • Must be hands-on in and comfortable in a product lab environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
