Geospatial Analyst

Role Description

Wiser is looking for qualified candidates to support in areas of Land and Ground Cover Data Enrichment and Maintenance. Comprehensive training is provided on the software, geographic information systems (GIS), and source materials needed to complete the work. Note that ERDAS Imagine is a key component. Analysts, technicians, and engineers work as a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information as needed for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources
  • Attribute digital data accurately
  • Understand and follow complex project specific guidance
  • Independently use technical resource and guidance documents
  • Perform data checks and other data quality controls including but not limited to attribution checks and managing associated documents
  • Clean geographic data errors and omissions
  • Apply cartographic editing techniques to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation
  • Suggest and implement improved work methods

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain a government security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing (RS), Information Technology, Environmental Science, Geosciences, or related discipline is preferred; or equivalent combination education and experience.
  • Experience using ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS, and other related GIS software
  • Ability to self-lead using customer guidance
  • Ability to meet production deadlines with minimal errors
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse team of people

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience using ERDAS Imagine
  • Experience producing National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) standard and non-standard products and datasets is a plus
  • Previous knowledge of or doing Quality Control tasks for Janus 233 and/or Janus 248 Land and Ground Cover (VISNAV), Intermittent Water/Saturated Soils (IW/SS), and/or Land Subject to Inundation (LSI) experience is a plus
  • U.S. Government clearance - Secret or higher
  • Ability to write code within ArcGIS, ArcPy, Python, etc.
  • Exposure to SOCET GXP or Stereoscopic/3D Imagery

Work Environment

  • Work is performed remotely, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day) and is completed during assigned shift window. Shift windows are 6am-3pm EST and 3pm-12am EST.
