Description

Primary Function:

Develops strategic sales plans that are aligned to business goals and profitability. Directs and oversees the execution of customer-specific sales strategies, identifies and pursues opportunities for new business and increased profitability, establishes both short and long-term sales goals and objectives. Leads and directs the daily activities and performance management of the Sales Team. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes strategic sales plans that are aligned to business goals and profitability. Collaborates with Senior Leadership on sales strategies and action plans for existing customers and securing new customers. Identifies, develops and executes the initiatives for supporting business goals and objectives. 
  • Directs and oversees the execution of customer-specific sales strategies, identifies and pursues opportunities for new business and increased profitability.
  • Leads and directs the daily activities and performance management of the Sales Team, including interviewing, hiring, training, recognition, coaching/development, and discipline. Manages and mentors Account Managers to ensure their success. Sets priorities and makes business decisions within the pre-established sales strategy for each customer.
  • Manages the Sales Forecast and Sales Funnel processes, metrics and reporting. Provides the company with essential and timely information and direction related to changes in existing business and information essential for the cross-functional planning of new business. 
  • Oversees/ implements the pricing management process.
  • Ensures project timelines are being met with agreed upon purchase contracts from customers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support/ backfill Account Managers and Inside Sales Manager.
  • Serve as backup to Vice President of Sales.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitors and customer intelligence.

Requirements

Required Skill/Knowledge:

Minimum of 5-7 years value-added custom molding sales/ engineering experience with major OEM customers including 3 years of supervisory experience in coaching/mentoring Account Managers. 

Demonstrated successful execution of sales strategy and business growth. Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills, ability to assess impact-to business and effectively solve problems. Fundamental knowledge of ISO 9001(ISO 13485 is a plus). Proficient in MS Office, ERP and CRM systems. Ability to travel a minimum 20% of the time including overnight. Demonstrated long-term customer relationships within plastics industry.

Preferred Skills/ Knowledge:

Previous experience in packaging and injection molding.

Education Level / Required Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or Communications and/or equivalent education and experience.
