The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation helps steward the cycle of research, discovery, commercialization and investment for the University of Wisconsin–Madison. WARF also manages the Town Center within the Discovery Building, which provides platforms for hands-on activities that link scientific research and the general public, offering a window on the real-time process of discovery. The Event Student Assistant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day event operations for the Town Center at the Discovery Building including high-level event support for events, interacting with clients, setting up and operating AV equipment, supporting setup and teardown and administrative tasks. This position offers an opportunity to gain great work experience and the ability to network with WARF and the Discovery Building staff and guests.
The starting rate for this position is $15/hour.
We are looking for candidates that possess strong customer service and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates should have experience working independently as well as in a team environment as well as the ability to lift 25 lbs.
In addition, candidates should have the ability to work 10-15 hours per week. We are looking for students with availability during any of the following: daytime, evenings or weekends starting as soon as possible.
