Position Overview:
The Area Manager, MWS provides frontline leadership to an assigned area, providing manufacturing and warehousing inventory services to a broad array of customers, and in so doing provides hands-on supervision in a competitive, structured, energetic, and demanding work environment. This role is directly responsible for successfully planning, organizing, coordinating, and leading a team of inventory professionals during assigned inventory events, meeting client expectations, and satisfying company standards while reinforcing the company’s values of Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Innovation. The Area Manager, MWS embodies the company values of Spirit, Pride, Integrity, Results, Innovation, Teamwork, customer obsession, and makes safety and security a personal mission.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Directly responsible for the success of all assigned inventory events, ensuring the delivery of desired customer service and holding staff accountable for meeting standards and expectations while representing RGIS immediately prior to, during, and following the completion of a scheduled inventory event
  • Responsible for “mapping” the facility to be counted, briefing team members on the specific job count procedures, safety, productivity expectations, professionalism and an overview of the expected count flow
  • Positions team members in an efficient count flow (based on team member skill level)
  • Sets up an organized work station, completes required customer audits, makes required adjustments to inventory data, creates and distributes customer reporting, completes team member's timesheets (while verifying each for accuracy before being submitted), and follows the complete MWS process
  • Actively coaches team members – demonstrates productive/efficient counting techniques – working side by side, motivates, and influences team members to follow proper counting procedures, promote transparency, accuracy and behave in a professional manner
  • Training and Development of Inventory Supervisors (to include: pre-inventory call/visit, a game plan for efficient crew flow, employee placement based on skill level, equipment set up, inventory software/reporting, proper count procedures/account instructions, customer service delivery, employee accountability, and productivity expectations)
  • Partners with our customers while leading an inventory team to complete an accurate, efficient, and professional inventory event
  • Organizes and prepares equipment/supplies prior to scheduled job start time, and confirms scheduled staff, meeting times, and transportation to ensure on-time arrival to the job site
  • Implements staffing and operations plan during an inventory event to meet, or exceed, desired outcomes
  • Actively holds team members accountable for the accuracy, productivity, and professionalism (dress code, work environment behavior, safety)
  • Leads, motivates, coaches, and develops team members to achieve expected productivity targets
  • Provides District and Regional leadership with continuous feedback pertaining to all events (e.g. staffing, on-time arrival, equipment status, inventory progress updates, customer concerns, and employee job performance issues)
  • Partners with District Manager to address/correct employee job performance issues
  • Ensures that pre-inventory calls/visits are completed in a timely manner
  • Reviews expected inventory preparation with customers to ensure that store is ‘count ready’ for an accurate, efficient, and safe count
  • Clearly communicates our inventory plan, addresses all customer concerns, and follows up to ensure that customer is satisfied with the outcome
  • Proactively communicates any issues regarding store preparation or procedure
  • Supports District Manager in assessment, selection, and training of Inventory Supervisors and Associates. Partners to ensure employee recruitment, selection, and training are in alignment with zone goals and expectations
  • Participates in employee counseling, performance appraisals, scheduling of staff, and ongoing coaching and development
  • Possesses a clear working knowledge of event planning and readiness preparation, and oversees operations in the absence of the District Manager
  • Remains an active team member – The Area Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader – visible, engaged and actively coaching others to meet the expectations outlined for each
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the core values of Spirit, Pride, Integrity, Results, Innovation, and Teamwork at all times
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing retail multi-store or multi-zone operations
  • Demonstrated history of the building and leading high-performing teams
  • Effective customer relations skills and ability to respond to and react to customer service issues
  • Ability to teach and enforce company policy and compliance
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and active auto insurance coverage
Working Conditions:
This position requires frequent travel via automobile and air and the ability to adapt to changing working conditions, such as standing and sitting for long periods of time, as well as frequent walking.
