JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Candy Room/Nut Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees in a manufacturing and packaging environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Essential Functions
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balance quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas while maintaining a hazard free working environment for all employees through floor leadership.
  • Perform accident investigations.
  • Actively promote employee safety and report any areas of concern to Human Resources
  • Actively promote and support food safety with product quality programs such as GMP's, HACCP and quality and sanitation standards while working closely with the Quality Assurance team and employees.
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective verbal and written communication with the day shift and the night manager, production employees, and supervisors to ensure smoother operation of production.
  • Knowledge of current requirements and capability of all production positions to perform training and troubleshooting for Machine Operators, Dumpers, Packers and track runners. Ensure training checklist is completed on all new employees as well as any employee changing positions.
  • Attend and participate in production meetings.
  • Approve Employee's Hours in Time Star system
  • Perform Employee Reviews annually
  • Perform Re-training and or corrective actions for employees
  • Ensure Production lines run effectively and efficiently

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within the department.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration as well as equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Schedule may require mandatory and voluntary overtime. Schedule is subject to change with or without notice.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience monitoring employee safety and food safety a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a production environment.
