Description

Summary:

Responsible for the overall operation of the Warehouse to include in-bound and out-bound shipments, supervision of warehouse employees, cycle counts, end-of-year inventory and inputting data.

Functions:

  1. Directly supervises warehouse staff that includes forklift operators, warehouse workers and warehouse coordinators.
  2. Indirectly manages a workforce of approximately 25 to 35 hourly employees engaged in the manufacturing of foam cups, containers and / or straws.
  3. Leads a team of inventory and warehouse workers to receive and record incoming and outgoing product.
  4. Complete quality, efficiency and warehouse and production reports daily.
  5. Conducts job, safety and ad-hoc training sessions with warehouse personnel, which includes training and maintaining up-to-date verification of forklift certification.
  6. Responsible for safely achieving established warehouse schedules and efficiencies while monitoring processes and operating techniques on a continuous basis to assure quality standards are met.
  7. Inputs inter-plant orders / shipments and coordinates with vendors.
  8. Verifies and schedules preventative maintenance on forklifts by both operators and vendors.
  9. Provides accurate records of warehouse employee’s absenteeism, accidents, wage increases, vacations and overtime.
  10. Responsible for data input into computer programs/systems as required for records.
  11. Works with quality control personnel to ensure product quality and takes appropriate action(s) when necessary based on the information they provide.
  12. Communicates and enforces company work rules and policies.
  13. Enforces warehouse safety rules, housekeeping standards and employee work practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA/FDA regulations.
  14. Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines.
  15. Performs annual performance evaluations of direct reports and shift employees.
  16. Responsible for controlling and monitoring attendance and punctuality of the entire shift.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse, Production or Plant Manager.

Physical Demands:

  1. Work an 8 or 12 hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, use hands to finger, grasp with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and lifting throughout the entire shift. Riding or standing on a moving forklift.
  2. Requires the manual movement of objects or containers that may weigh up to 30 pounds. Requires manual carrying of objects or containers up to 20 pounds at a maximum distance of 100 yards.

Working Conditions:

  1. Exposed to extreme heat. In-doors in a warehouse / manufacturing environment that is not air conditioned.
  2. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
  3. Wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
  4. Work an 8 or 12 hour day shift
  5. Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime

Qualifications:

  1. Education – College Degree – In related professional field

    Experience – Three years of supervision in a warehouse environment. Must know how to operate a forklift. Must be certified to operate a forklift.

    Skills – Computer literate (preferably using Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and PayCom). Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English; have good problem solving and organizational skills;
