Wilson & Kinsman is looking to add an associate attorney to our team. The ideal candidate will want to handle criminal defense cases in northern Indiana, desire regular client interaction, and be excited about the ability to appear in court on nearly a daily basis. The successful candidate will be given substantial freedom to determine how to handle the cases he or she is assigned, but will also be assisted by an experienced litigator/mentor as well as a well-trained support staff. The possibility exists for the ability to handle some civil litigation as well.

Some of the tasks expected in this position include:

• Discovery review and analysis
• Bond reduction/revocation hearings
• Daily client meetings
• Pretrial motions, including motions to dismiss, motions to suppress and submission of plea agreements
• Case round-table discussions
• Taking depositions
• Preparing jury instructions, trial briefs and motions in limine
• Bench and Jury Trials

• Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base

• Licensed Attorney in good standing
