Job Description

Wilshire seeks a high-potential candidate for the position of Chief of Staff, to help the CEO and President/ Deputy CEO focus on executing the company’s various initiatives. This role is seen as a development opportunity for an individual who aspires to gain more of an in-depth knowledge of Wilshire's business and executive leadership agenda. The role spans both the strategic and the tactical, working very closely with the CEO and President/ Deputy CEO and the leadership team to ensure accountability, execution, and delivery of strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff will move projects forward and ensure proper follow-up when communicating both internally and externally. The Chief of Staff must be exceptionally organized, an adept project manager, highly credible, approachable, and experienced at providing advice and counsel to senior leaders.

What you’ll do: 

  • Create a strategic agenda for the CEO and President/ Deputy CEO based on their vision and key initiatives 
  • Identify, coordinate, and implement mechanisms for ensuring prioritization and progress toward goals 
  • Help CEO and President/ Deputy CEO identify priorities, strategically align time with those, and revisit them regularly to assess progress 
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level; manage a variety of cross-organizational projects such as maintaining executive KPI dashboard and assisting with M&A activity, to name a few. 
  • Oversee meeting preparation, planning and follow up; support CEO and President in managing interactions with board and committee leaders, as well as external investors 
  • Provide communications support: drafting emails, reports, memos, presentations, internal and external communications 
  • Manage key relationships and build a process to track and nurture key stakeholders, investors, and clients 
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to the CEO and President, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly 
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the CEO and President regarding high impact decisions 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5 years of professional work experience; Wilshire work experience required 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to listen attentively and interact with leadership and build rapport with internal and external partners 
  • Strong project management skills, including developing, coordinating, and sharing plans and deliverables in an effective manner
  • Self-starter and quick learner with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through 
  • High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills 
  • A strong ability to perform critical tasks under duress 
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills as well as presentation skills; ability to frame a message 
  • Strong knowledge of Wilshire systems and structures 
  • Analytical and data-driven with a bias towards taking action to improve key metrics

The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $150,000/year. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefits, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
