The Opportunity

Working in close collaboration with our Controller, you will guide and mentor our growing accounting team to meet the evolving needs of WillowTree. Over the last several years, we have seen considerable growth in headcount and business, so the opportunities and challenges we face in accounting will require a thoughtful and poised leader to help us navigate these uncharted waters. To play your part in this, you will be responsible for all of our revenue accounting activities with a specific focus on ASC 606/IFRS 15. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to define and establish revenue accounting best practices to impact our future of accounting at WillowTree for years to come.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all revenue accounting activities with a focus on ASC 606/IFRS 15 operations
• Leadership responsibilities for the Senior/Staff Accountants on the Revenue Accounting team with a focus on coaching and mentorship 
• Reviewing client contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15
• Providing accurate and timely reporting of revenue and revenue-related accounts under ASC 606
• A leading voice in month-end close and year-end close operations 
• Consistent involvement in financial reporting to key stakeholders within WillowTree and our parent company, TELUS International
• Partnering with the business development team and project management teams to understand contracts, the status of projects, and forecasting of revenue
• Revamping of processing and developing of controls for Sarbanes Oxley

Qualifications

• 5 years of revenue accounting experience in revenue recognition, with a focus on ASC 606/IFRS 15, and financial close reporting activities within a professional services environment
• At least one year of leadership/supervisory experience with a track record of leading a successful team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and of the accounting implications of SOX
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis OR a CPA
• Ability to work independently without considerable oversight, and to act decisively
• Experience in ERP systems
• Collaborative approach with the ability to engage various disciplines and stakeholders in an organization
